A2B Trip Planner Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 2026
This policy explains what information A2B Trip Planner ("A2B", "we", "us") collects when you use the website at a2btripplanner.com and the A2B Android app, how we use it and the choices you have. We aim to collect as little personal information as possible.
Information we may collect
Information you give us
- Email address and password when you create an account (passwords are stored securely in hashed form by our authentication provider; we never see them).
- Saved trips and itineraries, including the places, stops, vehicle details and cost settings you choose to save.
- Feedback and support requests, including your message and, if you provide it, your email address.
Information collected automatically
- Basic technical information sent with every web request, such as your IP address and browser or device type. Our hosting provider uses this to deliver the service and protect it from abuse.
- App performance and error information (for example, a description of an error and the page it happened on) so we can fix problems.
- Information stored on your device to make the planner work, such as your sign-in session, an unsaved trip draft and your travel checklist. This stays in your browser or app storage.
We do not currently use advertising, Google Analytics or third-party advertising trackers. We do not ask for your name, and we do not collect payment information. We record service usage such as map requests; a page-view counter is present but not currently active on the site.
Location
A2B uses the locations you type in or pick on the map (such as your start point, stops and destination) to plan routes and estimate costs. A2B does not currently request your device's GPS location and does not track your location in the background. If we add an optional "use my location" feature in future, it will only be used when you choose to allow it, for example to fill in your start point, and your device will ask for your permission first.
How we use information
- To provide route planning, cost estimates and travel suggestions.
- To let you save, rename, open and delete your itineraries.
- To maintain and improve the service and fix errors.
- To understand usage and performance in aggregate (for example, how many map requests the service makes).
- To respond to feedback and support requests.
- To prevent abuse and fraud, including rate-limiting excessive requests.
A2B does not currently display advertising. If we introduce advertising in future, we will update this policy and ask for any consent that is required before it starts.
Our legal bases under UK GDPR are: performance of a contract (providing the service and your account), our legitimate interests (keeping the service secure, reliable and improving it) and, where relevant, your consent.
Third-party services
We use the following providers to run A2B. They process data on our behalf or as independent providers:
- Lovable / Lovable Cloud – website and app hosting, account sign-in and database storage (accounts, saved trips, feedback).
- Google Maps Platform – maps, place search, address lookup and road routing. The places and routes you search for are sent to Google. See Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
- Google Gemini (Google AI) – AI-generated route ideas, travel inspiration and vehicle fuel-economy lookups. The details you enter for these features (such as places and car model) are sent to Google to generate a response.
- OpenStreetMap services (Nominatim, OSRM and OpenStreetMap map tiles) – used as a backup for place search, routing and maps.
- Google Fonts – supplies the fonts used on the site, which means your browser connects to Google's servers.
- Email delivery – when you send feedback, a notification is emailed to us through our hosting provider's email service.
A2B does not currently use Google Analytics, Google AdMob or any payment or subscription provider. Some of these providers may process data outside the UK; where they do, they rely on recognised safeguards such as adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct personal data that is inaccurate.
- Request deletion of your personal data.
- Request a copy of your data in a portable format.
- Object to certain processing, including processing based on legitimate interests.
- Withdraw your consent at any time where we rely on consent.
You can delete your account and saved trips yourself at any time from the account deletion page. For any other request, email a2btripplanner@gmail.com. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk).
Data retention
We keep personal data only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes it was collected for, including to meet legal obligations, resolve disputes and for legitimate business purposes. Account details and saved trips are kept until you delete them or your account. Feedback is kept for as long as it is useful to improve the service. Cached route information and aggregate usage records do not identify you and are kept only as long as needed to run the service efficiently.
Children's privacy
A2B is not intended for children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
Security
All connections to A2B use HTTPS. Access to saved trips is restricted so that only the signed-in account owner can read them, and secret service keys are kept on our servers, never in the website or app.

Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time, for example if we add new features or services. The latest version will always be published on this page, with the "Last updated" date shown at the top.
